- Renovations at the intersection of Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place in Decatur will soon take place. The DeKalb County parking deck is at this location. - According to a police report, a man sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint. The alleged attack took place outside of the woman's home last week. The report states the woman was forced to drive to another location within DeKalb County. Approximately two hours later the woman was able to escape and find her way to the police station, where she gave a description of the man to a sketch artist. According to her statement, the man was around 5 feet, 9 inches in height, in his 20's, with a medium hue, wearing gray pants and a gray T-shirt. If anyone has any information regarding this case, they are asked to call 404-577-8477. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Three DeKalb County firefighters are still recovering from injuries that took place two weeks ago during a fire on Oxbow Road. The firemen were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. Due to their burns, they have yet to return back to work. In good faith, their colleges have come together to help raise money for one of the firemen, Frank Barker, and his family in particular. Barker is soon to become a father and the firefighters at Local 1492 Dekalb County Professional Firefighters are attempting to raise $40,000 the family. If you would like to help, you may click here.
