- The DeKalb County Police report that Shirley Revere was killed in a car crash on Covington Highway on Monday morning. The crash occurred in the 5200 block around 6:15 a.m. A man was also injured during the crash. His injuries are non-life threatening. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. (Patch)
- The DeKalb County Police Department has released the identity of the teen who was shot and killed during a Decatur candlelight vigil on Sunday. Ian Hagerty, 17 years old, was killed during the event near Flat Shoals Parkway. Two other teens were injured during the event on Sunday. The vigil was for Taneaious McCune, 18 years old, who was killed during an attempted home invasion. (Patch)
- The DeKalb Senior Advisory Board is requesting community feedback through a survey. The survey's results help the Board tailor events and activities for the county's senior community. The survey will be collecting feedback through Jan. 7. Click to take the survey. (DeKalb County Public Library)
