Emory Forum Focuses on Preventing Memory Loss, Dementia

This week, the Emory University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center will host its seventh Brain Health Forum, “Preventing Memory Loss and Dementia: Emory’s Current Research Agenda”. The event will bring together top experts in cognitive health management and clinical research programs.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at The Carter Center, located 453 Freedom Parkway in Atlanta.

Despite the increase in emerging treatments and early detection, there are still challenges to overcome in order to stop, slow and perhaps prevent Alzheimer’s disease. During the event participants will learn strategies that may prevent the loss of memory and empower older adults to decrease their risk factors for cognitive impairment. Attendees will also learn about the latest trends and discoveries in Alzheimer’s prevention and research. 

The forum will include keynote lectures and panel discussions and lunch will be provided.

Emory’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) is the only National Institutes of Health designated ADRC in the Southeast, signifying the highest status an institution can receive in Alzheimer’s research and care.
