Gas Station Goes Down
The old gas station on Columbia Drive was torn down Wednesday as part of the demolition work that will result in green space creation.

A work crew demolished the gas station building on Columbia Drive on Wednesday as work continues to create approximately two acres of green space.
John Snyder, an environmental engineer with Terra Tech of Duluth, said work should last through the week. Three underground gas tanks were unearthed and the gas pump islands will be torn down, he said.
The site is located just outside the Decatur city limits, next to the Atlanta Friends School.
