GBI Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting At DeKalb School
A school resource officer fired his gun at two men who were speeding a car toward him at Lithonia High School, GBI investigators said.
DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Two men have been arrested in connection with an officer-involved shooting at Lithonia High School on Thursday, which the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now investigating.
Investigators said around 3 p.m. Thursday, Lithonia High School staff saw two men, who are not students, on the high school campus. Staff asked the men to leave multiple times.
While the two men were sitting in a car in the parking lot, a DeKalb County School Resources Officer approached the car. The driver reversed and hit several cars in the process, a Friday news release said. The driver drove around the parking lot, "not far from the initial shooting location," and stopped.

The SRO then took the driver into custody. A DeKalb County Police Officer assisted with arresting the passenger.
One of the men was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries, the release said. A firearm was found inside the car. No officers were injured during the incident.

"At this time, there are no known injuries to any of the witnesses in the vehicles that were hit by the man's vehicle," the release reads.
The two men involved "will be identified later," the GBI said. Charges are expected, but GBI agents did not specify what the charges would be.
The GBI will keep conducting an independent investigation of the officer-involved shooting. Once it's complete, the case file will be turned over to the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office for review.
