GBI Names Director Of The Child Victims Unit

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announces the promotion of Elizabeth Andrews to the Director of the Child Victims Unit within the Medical Examiner’s Office. The Child Victims Unit (CVU) will house the Child Fatality Review Unit and the Child Abuse Investigative Support Center, providing pediatric injury evaluation, death investigation, fatality review, and prevention services.

Ms. Andrews began her career with GBI in October 2008 in Forensic Biology and held positions as a Medical Examiner Investigator, Child Fatality Review Program Manager, and Child Abuse Investigative Support Center Coordinator. Ms. Andrews is a certified death investigator, P.O.S.T. certified instructor, published author, and is the current Governor appointed Chair for the Child Fatality Review Panel.
Ms. Andrews graduated from North Georgia College & State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She is originally from Acworth, where she currently resides.
