GBI Names New Criminal Justice Training Supervisor
Consuela Calhoun was promoted to serve in the role.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announces the promotion of Consuela Calhoun to Criminal Justice Training Supervisor of the Plans and Program Development Section of the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) at GBI Headquarters. Ms. Calhoun will be responsible for overseeing the Learning Management System (LMS) which is a virtual platform for criminal justice agencies to complete online GCIC required trainings and register for classroom training or webinars. She will also be responsible for the Training Unit which provides training on the use of all GCIC programs to include access and dissemination of criminal justice information to agencies all over the state of Georgia.

Ms. Calhoun began her career with GBI in the Gun Check Program in January 1996 as a firearms operator and later promoted to firearms analyst, processing background checks. In 2006, she joined the CCH Identification Section where she assisted criminal justice agencies with the update of criminal history record information to the CCH system and trained staff for a disposition recovery project. In 2017, she transitioned to the Plans and Program Development Training Unit as a Criminal Justice Training Specialist where she traveled all over the state of Georgia providing training to criminal justice agencies on the use of GCIC programs and the dissemination of criminal justice information. Ms. Calhoun is a P.O.S.T. Certified Instructor and has many years of training experience.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is comprised of four divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Laboratory, the Investigative Division, and the Legal Division. The GBI has over 900 employees and a current budget of $147,482,036.
