GBI Touts New App To Report Missing Children, Abuse

BREAKING: The "GaCFR app" is the brainchild of several state agencies who have come together to protect the state's minors.

DECATUR, GA -- A new mobile app is being utilized to help report missing children and abuse, state law enforcement officials announced Tuesday.

The "GaCFR app" is the brainchild of several agencies, including the Georgia Child Fatality Review Program, which investigates all suspicious, sleep-related death of minors in the state. The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services and the State Office of the Child Advocate also played a role.

The app, billed as the newest tool in the arsenal of Georgia Bureau of Investigation, is designed to be a "quick resource for families, care givers, support agencies, and law enforcement," a state news release says.
