Mask Requirement Returns For City Schools Of Decatur

After changing decisions multiple times this summer, City Schools of Decatur will now require masks for all students, staff and visitors.

DECATUR, GA — Face masks are once again required at all City Schools of Decatur facilities for students, staff and visitors, vaccinated or not, school officials said.

The announcement came Tuesday, shortly after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed its mask-wearing guidance for vaccinated Americans. The CDC now recommends everyone — even vaccinated people — wear masks indoors in certain circumstances, including in schools.

The district posted a short announcement on its website, and said more information will come in the Friday Follow-Up from Superintendent Maggie Fehrman.
