Murder Suspect, Girlfriend Arrested At DeKalb Motel

The 40-year-old man, who was accused of killing another man who had been reported missing, was arrested at a Flat Shoals Road motel.

DECATUR, GA — A 40-year-old man was recently arrested at a DeKalb County motel in connection with a homicide in Tulsa, Oklahoma, police said Monday.

DeKalb County Police said Jason Bowen, who was identified as the suspect in the Tulsa homicide investigation, was arrested Thursday by U.S. Marshals at a Flat Shoals Road motel. Weapons and drugs were found in the motel room, police said.

Trashawn Hicks, his 34-year-old girlfriend, was also arrested though it is unclear if her charges are related to the Tulsa probe.

Tulsa (Oklahoma) Police said Bowen was charged on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the killing of Tevin Goff, 29.

Goff's family reported him missing on March 9. Police said his vehicle was found on fire that evening near Porter, Oklahoma. The next morning, Goff's body was located near Coweta, Oklahoma, police said.

A cause or manner of death was not released.

DeKalb County Jail records showed Bowen was additionally charged on suspicion of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender probationer, theft by receiving property stolen in another state and sale of schedule III, IV or V controlled substance.

Hicks was charged on suspicion of two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and theft by receiving property stolen in another state. She has since been released from custody, jail records showed Monday.

Police said Bowen is in the custody of the U.S. Marshals and will be extradited to Tulsa.
