- A new vendor program is set to operate within four locations in Decatur Square. The announcement was made by a city official who also stated that the number of allowed food carts will be a total of eight. This adds to the diversity that already exists in the restaurant businesses in Decatur. (Decaturish.com)
- Summer fun is soon to begin at some of our local organizations. Decatur Legacy Park, Cochran Building located at 500 S. Columbia Drive in Decatur will have both indoor and outdoor activities. These programs will take place from June 12 to July 7. Avondale Estates LSC Gymnastics and Tumbling will also have camps this summer at 127 Center St. in Avondale Estates. Their programs, Safari and Under the Sea Camp will take place June 5-9.
- Former attorney Richard Merritt has been convicted of murder. The announcement was made by DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston. The guilty verdict was rendered on May 24. The 49-year-old former attorney was living with his mother, Shirley Merritt, 77, in DeKalb County when the fatal incident occurred, February 1, 2019. (On Common Ground News)
