Oakhurst Could Be Getting A New Brewpub
Sceptre is set to replace the Oak Brewpub on East Lake Drive early next year.

DECATUR, GA -- The old Oak Brewpub on East Lake Drive in Decatur is set to reopen as Sceptre Brewing Arts early next year. is set to replace Oak Brewpub in early-2019. The Oak Brewpub closed in November 2017, and the new venture is headed by the same management team that runs Argosy in East Atlanta Village.
The gastropub will serve “beer-friendly pairings, elevated comfort food, and refined pub classics," as reported by the AJC. Owners Armando Celentano, Benjamin Rhoades, and Donald Durant will be joined by Argosy and Sceptre culinary director Michael Person, general manager Drew Gillespie, and brewmaster Trevor Jones.
Jones met Celentano, Rhoades and Durant in 2013, when he became part of the opening bar staff at Argosy.

The business has been approved for a local alcohol license and renovations are complete. A federal brewing permit is still pending.
