Police Make Arrest in Slaying of Pregnant Mother at DeKalb Motel
DeKalb Police nab suspect after releasing surveillance camera footage of him leaving motel on Snapfinger Drive.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA – A man suspected of raping and killing a pregnant mother has been arrested and is now in the DeKalb County Jail, WSB-TV reports.
Police said Ashley Mays, 20, of Lithonia was bound by Zip Ties, assaulted and strangled on Nov. 18 in a Snapfinger Drive motel room, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police believe she may have been suffocated with a pillow.
Last week, DeKalb investigators released surveillance camera footage at the Quality Inn and Suites showing a man leaving the hotel room where police later found Mays.

The images led to the arrest of Terique Hall, 24, of Atlanta. according to WSB.
"Ashley loved her family very much. I am saddened by her tragic death but our faith will always be in the Lord. So we know Ashley is [in heaven] dancing freely now,” her mother said.

Hall is the suspect in a similar case where a woman was attacked in her Lithonia home after connecting with Hall through a website, according to the AJC.
