Revival a 'Must-Visit' Pie Destination: Eater

DECATUR, GA — There's always room for pie! That's particularly true for the folks at Eater Atlanta. After carefully charting the top bread, cake and pastry spots in the metro area, these food experts turned their palates to the top pies.

And Decatur's Revival made a list of Eater's "Nine Must-Visit Pie Destinations" in the Atlanta region.

"At Top Chef alum Kevin Gillespie's shrine to traditional Southern fare, excellent pies obviously have a spot on the dessert menu," Eater staff write.

Revival is located at 129 Church Street in Decatur.

Of course, there's the standard fried apple pie with vanilla ice cream at Revival.

Revival also serves a peanut butter oreo pie and lemon icebox pie.

A favorite? One Revival fan on Yelp tried both: "Both were good - but the lemon iced box pie won hands down over the peanut butter oreo pie."

Zagat writer Christopher Hassiotis also gushed over the lemon treat: "From the scratch-made graham cracker crust to the airy (but not too light) filling and the citrus-spiked whipped topping, well… sometimes a classic needs no reinvention."
