  1. On Sunday, Aug. 7, Decatur Police responded to reports of gunshots at Greenwood Avenue and Ansley Street. Although no injuries were reported, a communications dispatcher confirmed shots had been fired in the area. (Decaturish.com)
  2. Atlanta native 21 Savage and his Leading By Example Foundation hosted its 7 annual “Issa Back-2-School Drive” on Sunday afternoon in Decatur. According to officials, the school giveaway has provided over 2,000 children with meals, backpacks, and school supplies. 21 Savage is a Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum rapper whose real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph.   3. Generation of Hope Church gave away free gas over the weekend to support people in Decatur. The gas giveaway event occurred on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Exxon on Covington Hwy. Free fills were only available for the first 150 cars that arrived. (11Alive.com WXIA)
