Decatur is inviting residents to take advantage of Spring Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, May 13.

DECATUR, GA -- If you're tired of that old stereo component set in the basement -- you know the one -- now's the time to get rid of it. Decatur residents will get the chance to shed old gadgets and Styrofoam on Saturday, May 13 during the city's Spring Electronics Recycling event.

The recycling event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Decatur Public Works building at 2635 Talley Street. Wares need to be dropped off during the allotted time and not before or after. Looking to get rid of old TVs with cathode ray tubes? The fee will be $10 per TV set, the city said. Monitors will be done away with for $5. All transactions will be cash only with exact change required.

Visit the Electronics Recycling page to get a list of acceptable electronics, foam recycling and shredding guidelines. Residents from anywhere in metro Atlanta are welcome.
