  1. Tips don't always add up. Research, waitstaff, and servers alike are voicing their opinions when it comes to tipping with cash or credit cards. Some say the scale tips to cash being "king." It turns out that when paying with a credit card, taxes and other fees can be taken from the tip leaving the waitstaff and servers with fewer earnings. This is an ongoing issue that affects restaurants and businesses here in Decatur as well as throughout the United States. (https://www.foodandwine.com/fw...)
  2. Brick by brick, Bessie Branham Park is hoping to rebuild its image by seeking the public's assistance in becoming a sponsor of its new initiative. The public is invited to become a sponsor and purchase a personalized brick to be added during the remodeling of its playground, baseball field, and more. (Decaturish.com )
  3. On Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. Commissioner Steve Bradshaw, the DeKalb County Planning and Sustainability Department and the Community Development Department will host a public meeting discussing the Memorial Drive Community Rebranding Initiative. The public is invited to share their input concerning this matter which has been ongoing since 2019. The meeting will take place at the DeKalb Conference Center, located at 495 N Indian Creek Drive.
