Today: Tornado Siren Test at 5 PM

Here are 5 Things you need to know about today -- Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.

1. Yes, that's a siren. But don't worry, the City of Decatur is performing its monthly tests of the tornado sirens at 5 p.m. In case of bad weather, the test will be delayed a day.

2. Renovations at Renfroe Middle. Parents of kids at Renfroe Middle School can talk to school system officials from 5:30-6:30 p.m. about construction and expansion at the school that will be paid for with SPLOST money.

3. Weather forecast. Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70s, lows in the low 50s.

4. Public meetings. Decatur School Board at the Westchester building at 758 Scott Blvd. at 5 p.m. for an executive session and 5:30 p.m. for a work session on SPLOST projects. Avondale Estates Tree Board at 4 p.m. in City Hall.

5. On this date. In 1995, a jury foundΒ  O.J. Simpson innocent of murder in the killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman.
