Here are 5 Things to know about this day -- Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012.

Β 1. Help put good food into the schools. Participating restaurants in Decatur will donate a portion of their proceeds to Decatur Farm to School today. It happens 7-11 a.m. for breakfast/coffee spots and 5-9 p.m. for dinner/dessert restaurants.Β
Β 2. Learn about Ulysses Grant. H.W. Brands will be at the Decatur Library at 7:15 p.m. to talk about his new book, The Man Who Saved the Union: Ulysses Grant in War and Peace. Free.
