Price: You work for free. Plots are available in the garden for 2012 for $20 annually for Decatur students and staff, or $65 for others.

When/where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at West Trinity Place and North McDonough Street, near Decatur High School in Decatur, GA  30030.

Why go: To stock up on fresh, organically grown fruits, vegetables, pesto and other tasty local foods.

Price: No admission, but you have to pay the vendors.

When/where: 12 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, 767 Clifton Rd NE, Atlanta, GA.

Why go: This exhibition reveals what we can learn about animals by examining what they leave behind. Guests can listen in on a bear's digestive system, learn the language of poop in countries around the world, examine fecal samples in a veterinarian's lab, compete in dung beetle races, track wild animals by clues left in scat, see how long it takes an elephant to poop their body weight and meet a dinosaur dung detective. 

Price: $17.50.

When/where: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Toco Hill-Avis G. Williams Library, 1282 McConnell Drive, Decatur, GA.

Why go: The Wild Goose Chase Theater will present a puppet show like most kids have never seen.

Price: Free. No registration.
