Nominate 4 'Outstanding' Women In DeKalb County By Friday

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The deadline to nominate an outstanding woman in DeKalb County District 1 is Friday, according to a news release.

DeKalb County Commissioner Robert Patrick said the second annual Women’s History Month Trailblazer Award will recognize four women in the District during Women's History Month. Nominations can be emailed to district1@dekalbcountyga.gov. Use “Women’s History Month Nomination” in the subject line of the email.

The month of March is designated national Women’s History Month and dedicated to celebrating the contributions and leadership of women, according to the release.

"Today, women are leading in record numbers in every industry from business, law, government, science, sports, and even those on the frontlines of the global pandemic,. A century ago, most women in the world were denied the right to vote. Today, women in almost every country have the right to vote. These accomplishments and more are the reasons we celebrate Women’s History Month. Change is possible.
