  1. Marietta and Cobb County police and fire personnel responded to a fire at an apartment complex Monday morning, according to the Marietta Police Department. Marietta Police reported that "officers noticed smoke" coming from the Hamptons area at 1523 Roswell Road and "notified emergency dispatch." As of Monday morning, police encourage residents to avoid the area as crews respond to the incident. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. A metro Atlanta restaurant security guard was shot late Saturday evening. Dunwoody police officials confirmed that a security guard was shot after a physical altercation with a couple who tried to leave Sage Woodfire Tavern on Ashford Dunwoody Road without paying for their meal. The victim was rushed to a local hospital. The current extent of his injuries is unknown as of Monday morning. (Erie News Now)
  3. Two new restaurants are coming to The Avenue East Cobb as part of a series of new lease signings. Peach State Pizza, debuting at The Avenue under the brother partnership of David and Michael Cohen, will occupy the former space of Stockyard Burgers and Bones. Press Waffle Co., an eatery chain featuring Belgian Liége waffles, will occupy space in one of two new “jewel box” buildings featuring restaurants and retail shops. Construction is expected to begin in the spring and open in late summer. (East Cobb News)
