  1. On Jul. 1, the Cobb Board of Elections welcomed two new members from East Cobb. Stacy Butler Efrat and Debbie Fisher took their positions following appointments by the Cobb Democratic Party and Cobb Republican Party respectively, with their first meeting as board members scheduled for Jul. 10. Efrat and Fisher, known as citizen-activists with involvement in local politics, will each serve a four-year term on the board. (East Cobb News)
  2. Tin Lizzy's restaurant at The Avenue East Cobb is set to temporarily close next week for renovations. The restaurant will shut down after dinner service on Sunday, Jul. 9, and is expected to reopen for dinner service on Friday, Jul. 14. According to a press release, the revamped Tin Lizzy's will showcase a "surfer-cool aesthetic" and a "fresh color palette," along with an all-weather patio complete with greenery and cornhole boards.   3. The Teen Summer Recycling Craft Competition returns this year to the Switzer Library in Marietta! Artists in grades 6-12 are invited to create their best recycled art pieces on Jul. 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the library conference room; pieces will be displayed by Keep Cobb Beautiful.
