6th District Race: Handel Gets Chambliss Endorsement
BREAKING: Former Secretary of State Karen Handel gets nod from former Sen. Saxby Chambliss as she leads all Republicans in race.
EAST COBB, GA -- Karen Handel is solidifying her lead among Republicans in the race to represent Georgia's 6th Congressional District. Handel received the endorsement of former Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss, her campaign announced Monday.
In a video message posted on YouTube, Chambliss said Handel would be a diligent public servant who got results for the 6th District.
"Karen is one of those people who simply gets things done," he said. "Her reputation from Atlanta to Washington is that she is the kind of person...that you can work with. And she will do what she says she's going to do."

Handel is one of 18 candidates running in the race, which will culminate in a special election on April 18. While she leads all GOP candidates, polls show her to be trailing first-time candidate and Democrat Jon Ossoff.
