Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Cobb County's bid to keep Commissioner Jerica Richardson in office has been hit with a lawsuit. East Cobb activist Larry Savage filed the suit on Tuesday. In it, he accuses the county of using "home rule" powers to draw its own commission districts. Savage attests that this practice is illegal and that the ruling should be tossed out. (Yahoo News)
  2. Cobb Chamber has been busy lately! The Chamber has been holding ribbon-cutting ceremonies for a bunch of new local businesses. Viva Chicken, The Music Studio Atlanta, StretchLab, and many others have officially opened for business. The list of businesses also includes a dentist, a car wash, and two new banks. (Cobb Chamber)
  3. South Cobb Library is helping people beat the winter doldrums and share in the holiday cheer. The Cabin Fever Days Winter Family Program keeps your kids happy, busy, and engaged. There will be puzzles, games, and hot cocoa for children of all ages. If you missed this week’s programming, don’t worry; the next session is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 2-4 p.m. Cobb County Public Library)
