  1. A Cobb County man was shot and killed after he lunged at police officers responding to a domestic dispute on Wednesday night. Officials say 22-year-old Anton Washington was armed with a knife when he confronted the officers at the home on Sandtown Road around 8:15 p.m. According to Cobb County police, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case and will continue to investigate the shooting. (WSB-TV 2 Atlanta)
  2. The Cobb County Government has proposed a resolution that would enable the Board of Commissioners to redraw the existing commission districts. The measure will be discussed by the commissioners at two upcoming meetings on Oct. 11 and Oct. 25, with a vote scheduled for the second meeting. According to the announcement published in The Marietta Daily Journal yesterday, the proposed ordinance would not impact the upcoming elections in November. (East Cobb News)
  3. Red Sky Tapas & Bar has closed its doors for good after 14 years of service to the East Cobb Community. The restaurant announced the closure on its Facebook page on Thursday, but the owners did not comment directly on their decision to sell the business. According to a report published by restaurant and retail site ToNeTo, the space will be reconcepted under new ownership. (East Cobb News)
