Try Celebrating New Year's Eve In This GA Town, Analysts Say

ATLANTA, GA — You should cheers to the new year in Atlanta, the 14th-best city in which to celebrate New Year's Eve, a recent study says.

The WalletHub survey released this month showed Orlando, Florida, is the perfect town for New Year's Eve celebrants.

But at the heart of Georgia is Atlanta, which analysts slid into the top 20 for best New Year's Eve destinations. In Atlanta, entertainment and food availability ranked fifth on a list of 100 U.S. cities.

Experts also gave Atlanta a score of 36 for costs, which included hotel and meal prices, and an 88 for safety and accessibility.

“Celebrating New Year’s Eve in the right city can turn the holiday into a truly magical experience," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in the report. "The best cities for New Year’s celebrations have clear skies and some of the best fireworks displays around. The top cities also offer an abundance of highly-rated, affordable dining options, along with a vibrant nightlife and plenty of activities to make your transition into the new year a memorable one.”

Atlanta outperformed Glendale, Arizona, the last town on the national list. Other cities in the bottom 10 included Memphis, Tennessee; Fresno, California; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The cost of three-star hotel rooms in Atlanta tied with El Paso, Texas for second-lowest. The cheapest hotel on Tuesday was located on Paces Ferry Road, near Truist Park and Cumberland Mall, and was going for $59 per night.
