Atlanta Restaurant Inspections: 'Observed Fruit Fly Activity'

MARIETTA, GA — Do you really know how clean your favorite restaurant or coffee shop is? Sure, you love the food but it seems to taste better when you know what the score from their latest food inspection.
Here are some restaurant and food service inspections conducted recently in Atlanta and surrounding Fulton County. To see more information about the eating establishments, click on the date or score.
The state uses a point system in rating the food industry. Each item is valued between 1 and 9 on an inspection form. Points can be deducted (often shown in red) as well. More points can be taken based on the greater risk of sickness and repeat violations be mean even more subtracted from a restaurant's score.
Scores from 90 to 100 are signified by the letter A. From 89 to 80 is a B, from 79 to 70 is a C and a U is for less than 70.

Marriott Suites Hotel 35 FOURTEENTH ST NE ATLANTA, GA 30309 August 25, 2017 Score: 66, Grade: U

Inspector: "Observed employee failure to wash hands in between handling soiled dishes and clean dishes. Observed no hand sink located in the ware wash area. Only one hand sink located in the main kitchen. Corrected On-Site. New Violation."

"Observed fruit fly activity in ware wash area and at bar. Last Pest Control visit was conducted by Ecolab on 7/20/17. Action recommended by Ecolab is to thoroughly clean bar area. The action was noted on past few reports. New Violation."
