Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Now through Dec. 20, the Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center will be screening movies in the Black Box Theatre. Movies range from family-friendly favorites like 'A Muppet Christmas Carol' to classic horror films like 'The Blair Witch Project.'   2. With October just around the corner, the Mabry Middle Foundation is getting in on the fun with its very own haunted house event. Area students and families can head to the Mabry Middle School campus on Oct. 22 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. to enjoy "The Fear Master's Lab," along with a pumpkin boutique and a kids' activity area. Tickets are available for purchase online, with event proceeds going toward academic programs and facility improvements at Mabry. (East Cobb News)
  3. This past week, three East Cobb support staff employees were honored by the Cobb County School District. Kathleen Riewerts at Daniell Middle School, Susan Murphy of Murdock Elementary School, and Terri Robbins of Kell High School received the district-level recognition. A similar event was held last week to honor retired Cobb school district employees. (East Cobb News)
