Churchill's Pub Gets Eviction Notice
The landlord for the long-serving East Cobb neighborhood tavern is seeking more than $12,000 in back rent.
Thanks to East Cobb Patch reader Stuart Minkus, who spotted an eviction notice on the door of Churchill's Pub on Wednesday.Â
Churchill's Pub has been in business in East Cobb for more than 30 years and has been located at 1401 Johnson Ferry Road, across from Houlihan's and near Target.
We drove by there this afternoon and saw that Merchants Festival, the landlord of Churchill's Pub, has filed a claim in Cobb State Court, seeking $12,416 in back rent, as well as attorney's fees and other charges.Â
The door is locked and there's also a notice hanging from the handle that the restaurant's natural gas service has been turned off.Â
The eviction notice was addressed to Churchill's owner J. Patrick, Inc., and dated on Wednesday, Aug. 7, and indicated the case was being held over until next Wednesday, Aug. 14.Â
There is no mention of the closing on the Churchill's Pub website.Â
The restaurant specializes in traditional pub fare and features dinner and drink specials and live weekend music and dancing.Â
J. Patrick, Inc., was formed in 1995 by J. Patrick French.Â
We're trying to get in touch with Churchill's Pub management and will post a response if we get one.
