Cobb County Election Guide 2016: Voting Hours, Polling Locations, Sample Ballots and More

What you need to know before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Local voters will be heading to the polls for Election Day to choose the next president of the United States, along with filling congressional and statehouse seats and answering state and local ballot questions.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

You can check your voter registration information, including poll location, at the Georgia voting MVP website.

By state law, "Each elector shall present proper identification to a poll worker." Acceptable photo IDs include a driver's license, passport or voter identification card. See more Voter ID rules.

Presidential race selections include Republican Donald Trump, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Libertarian Gary Johnson. Green Party candidate Jill Stein is not on the ballot in Georgia.

Voters statewide will be choosing a U.S. senator, selecting from incumbent Republican Johnny Isakson, Democrat Jim Barksdale and Libertarian Allen Buckley.

Congressional races representing portions of Cobb County include incumbent Republican Tom Price defending the 6th District seat against Democrat Rodney Stooksbury, and incumbent Republican Barry Loudermilk taking on a challenge for the 11th District seat from Democrat Don Wilson. Rep. David Scott, a Democrat, is running unopposed for the 13th District.

The only contested race in Cobb County government is for Cobb County Sheriff, between incumbent Republican Neil Warren and Democrat Gregory B. Gilstrap. All other races are uncontested on the ballot.

City of Marietta voters will be asked whether the municipality should have term limits for the mayor and council.
