The allegations came to light in September when authorities investigated him for alleged inappropriate behavior with boys in Marietta, according to news reports.

Rumors about Gorman have been floating around for some time in Marietta and East Cobb parenting circles, Patch has learned. But this is the first time a parent has come forward publicly with a direct link to the allegations.

Speaking to WSB-TV, a local mother who is choosing to remain anonymous to protect her son, said that she reported Gorman to police six years ago when he was a volunteer wrestling coach at Pope High School.

The woman said she went to authorities after finding messages between Gorman and her son.

“I don't feel like the people that were in the positions down here to protect my child and to look into this, did as much as they could have or should have,” she told WSB-TV.

Her attorney, attorney Matthew Enslein, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that her hard work is what allowed Pennsylvania authorities to arrest Gorman -- a stark contrast to how similar allegations were handled in Georgia, she said.

"I kind of felt like some doors were shut in my face," the mother told the TV station. She then did some internet sleuthing, finding other alleged victims through social media, including the Pennsylvania boy.

The Pennsylvania case involves a former student of Gorman's -- now 20 years old -- who claims the former wrestling coach sexually abused him for five years starting when he was 10 years old.

Gorman, who is still in the Cobb County jail, has waived extradition and will soon be heading to Pennsylvania to face sexual abuse charges.

Law enforcement authorities believe there still could be more victims.
