COBB COUNTY, GA — A Cobb County Police Department officer was injured on the job Sunday morning after a car hit his parked police car — with him inside — while he was investigating another crash, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The officer was investigating a crash on the Interstate 285 eastbound to Interstate 75 northbound ramp when another driver hit him while he was sitting inside his patrol car on the road's shoulder, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

While exiting I-285 and making the curve to I-75, the driver lost control of his car, GSP spokesperson Franka Young told the AJC.
