1. District 3 Commissioner JoAnn Birrell has been sworn in for another term on the Cobb County Board of Commissioners. The swearing-in was done in a private ceremony that took place right before the New Year. Originally Birrell intended to be sworn in during a public ceremony, but scheduling conflicts required changes to be made. This will be Birrell's fourth term on the board. (Press Release Desk )
2. A new partnership could dramatically change health care in Georgia. Wellstar Health System and the Augusta University Health System have created a letter of intent to form a potential partnership. The partnership would work to expand patient care across the state, as well as access to healthcare.
