- The softball team formerly known as the 18U East Cobb Bullets will now be playing under the Texas Bombers. According to Coaches Dana Stephens and Richard Johnson, the transition to the Bombers will allow players to take advantage of the organization's resources to promote player development. The coaches expressed their appreciation for the EC Bullets organization for the "many great years and the chance to represent our players in this competitive travel softball world." - The Tim D. Lee Senior Center in East Cobb (mailing address: Marietta) is hosting a Basic Investing and Taxes course for community members 55 years and older. The three-week course will be held on Tuesdays from Sep. 20 through Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each session. Those who wish to register can call the Tim D. Lee Senior Center at (770) 509-4900. - This Saturday, Sep. 24 at 2 p.m., the Cobb County Veteran's Connection and Switzer Library will host a discussion on the Veteran's History Project. Ethnographer and oral historian Susan Caolo will present her project, in which she records the stories of veterans for their families and future generations to remember.
