1. The Cobb Chamber's Cobb Executive Women has named a winner for the 2023 Woman of Distinction Award, which recognizes exceptional professional leadership, community involvement, and social responsibility. Stacey Chapman, Senior Vice President of CROFT & Associates, received the honor during the Chamber's June Marquee Monday event. Chapman has also been named to Engineering Georgia Magazine's list of 100 Influential Women twice. (Cobb County Courier)
2. A fast-casual restaurant in East Cobb closed its doors suddenly over the weekend. The O'Charley's Restaurant at 3550 Sandy Plains Road posted an announcement of the closure online but did not provide a reason for the shutdown. The restaurant is one of several O'Charley's locations to close around the country this week. (East Cobb News)
3. The Cobb County Public Library will hold a special closing celebration for the Gritters Library from 12:00-4:00 p.m. this Saturday, Jun. 17. It is the last day of operations for the library before it is torn down to be replaced by a newly constructed facility. The closing celebration will include family-friendly games and a balloon drop.
