East Cobb Road Work Update

Updated information on construction projects that may affect your commute in the coming week.

The following East Cobb road work information has been provided by District 2 Cobb Commissioner Bob Ott:

Lower Roswell Road Construction

  • Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29: Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Davidson Road and Willow Point Parkway with one lane open for your commute. The contractor will be grading and placing concrete. EXPECT DELAYS
  • Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday through Friday: Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open for your commute. The contractor will be grading, installing storm drainage, and placing concrete. Utility relocations should not affect your service. EXPECT DELAYS

  • Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Monday through Friday: Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor continues grading, and water main installation. Utility relocation should not affect your service.


Old Paper Mill Drive Drainage Construction
Project includes replacing a section of pipe, constructing a new headwall, and stabilizing the shoulder.

  • Old Paper Mill Drive – Monday through Friday: Contractor will be forming and pouring concrete headwall.

Paper Mill Road Bridge Replacement
In May, Cobb County DOT will begin work on replacing the bridge and adding a pedestrian bridge over Sope Creek on Paper Mill Road. The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to the National Park Service trails. This project will result in closing Paper Mill Road at the bridge for approximately four months beginning once school breaks for the summer. Signed detour routes will be provided during construction.

I-285 Top-End Resurfacing Project - GDOT
Georgia DOT continues working on a $56 million resurfacing project on I-285. Crews will resurface 10 miles of I-285 between Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County and Ashford Dunwoody Road in DeKalb County. Most work will take place nights and weekends. The project is scheduled to complete in August. EXPECT DELAYS.
