  1. On Tuesday, The Cobb Board of Commissioners rejected an environmentally-friendly Kinridge Court subdivision proposal after a contentious series of meetings. In a four to zero vote, the board denied the request by Green Community Development, an Atlanta developer, for 13 homes on seven and a half acres of severely sloping terrain off Kinridge Court. The denial was recommended by Cobb zoning staff and other agencies due to density, stormwater runoff, and traffic issues. (East Cobb News)
  2. A new Warby Parker store will be opening in East Cobb. On Saturday, Sep. 24, the fifth Warby Parker eyeglass retail store in Georgia will open at The Avenue East Cobb, located at 4475 Roswell Road. The new location, in Suite 205, between the Versona store and Ansley Atlanta Real Estate, will feature custom artwork by Atlanta artist and muralist George F. Baker III. (East Cobb News)
  3. Captain Planet Foundation (CPF) has partnered with Cox Enterprises and the Turner Foundation to celebrate the program's 10th anniversary. The program makes revitalization grants available to hundreds of school gardens across the metro Atlanta area through CPF’s Project Learning Garden Rejuvenation Fund. Metro Atlanta schools can apply now until Dec. 15 for an opportunity to receive $1,000 to rejuvenate their garden space and equipment (click here for a full list of eligible schools).
