- East Cobb parents are growing concerned as flu medications become increasingly hard to come by. On Wednesday, the U.S. government announced that it will be releasing its national stockpile of prescription flu medicine. People are also finding over-the-counter flu medications to be in short supply throughout the metro area. This flu season has been especially bad so far and is expected to worsen over the coming months. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- It's been over a year since flood damage impacted homes throughout Cobb County, and it doesn't look like that will change any time soon. In September of 2021, flooding destroyed parts of the county, causing thousands of dollars iin damage for local homeowners. Since then, the County has held multiple public discussions but has yet to reach an agreement. There is no current timeline for when the county expects the damage to be fixed. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- The East Cobb Quilters' Guild was incredibly generous this year when it comes to donations! This year, the Guild donated 1,362 items to local charities. Of those, 348 were quilts were for children in foster care, and 522 pillow cases went to children in hospitals throughout the state. 462 placemats were also donated to Cobb County Meals on Wheels. The Guild has been serving the community for 40 years. ( Yahoo News)
