🌱 Gas Tax Suspension Extended + Noshfest Is Back! + $400 Million Redo

First, today's weather:

A stray afternoon t-storm. High: 84 Low: 71.

Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

1. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has extended the Georgia gas tax suspension until Oct. 12. The 29-cents-a-gallon tax for gasoline and 32-cents-a-gallon for diesel tax suspension has been extended multiple times. The Gov. said the suspension was extended due to continuing inflation and supply chain issues, even though gasoline prices continue to fall and are under $3.50 a gallon in many parts of East Cobb. 2. Noshfest, the Jewish food and cultural festival, is returning after a two-year hiatus this Labor Day weekend! Noshfest is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 4, and Monday, Sep. 5, at Temple Kol Emeth, located at 1415 Old Canton Road in Marietta. (East Cobb News)
3. Cobb County Board of Commissioners members and North American Properties officials celebrated the start of construction on the Avenue East Cobb, a 1990s Marietta shopping center located off Roswell Road near the Fulton County line. The $400-million "redo" of the Avenue East Cobb, now called AEC, aims to create a "downtown" experience for the area. (Urbanize Atlanta)
