- Cobb County said they will be adding more hazardous waste drop-off events after a huge turnout at the Jun. 17 event at Jim Miller Park. Keep Cobb Beautiful, the county's beautification agency will be working with Cobb County Commissioners to plan future hazardous waste dropoff events. The Jim Miller Park event had such a large turnout that some citizens had to be turned away. Officials believe that many residents had a large number of hazardous materials built up during the pandemic. (East Cobb News)
- The Cobb Chamber announced that registration is now open for the 2023 Cobb Chamber/Taylor English Golf & Tennis Classic. The popular annual event will be held on Monday, Sept. 18 at Indian Hills Country Club in East Cobb. The tournament is a great networking opportunity while having fun on the links or the tennis courts. The event sells out so you are encouraged to register as soon as possible here. - Mike Register, former Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation returns to his old position as the Safety Director for Cobb County. On Tuesday evening, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved the selection. Register began his time as the GBI Director in August 2022 and resigned from the position last week to return to the job he once held as Safety Director for Cobb County. (Fox5 Atlanta)

- The Cobb County - Parks Natural Resource Management has free fun Roving Ranger programs this summer at Green Meadows Preserve. On Friday, Jun. 30, join in on "Fun, Tracks, and Scat," which will show you how to identify animals nearby. On Friday, Jul. 21, there will be a Native Plants Tour that will also feature a hike.
