Here are the top four stories today in East Cobb:
- Cobb high school students are being trained to respond to a variety of different emergencies to stay safe even in crises. The Cobb County Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency arrived at schools on Monday to teach the students what to do if they're caught in an active shooter situation. Students also learned how to deal with serious injuries and heavy bleeding. This is part of a national effort to help students stay safe in school. (Cobb County Courier)
- The Cobb Chamber has welcomed three new stores into the area. Officials appeared at the ribbon cutting of Cobb County DOT, which will help to improve transportation throughout the area. wHydrate Smyrna, an IV hydration boutique, and Your CBD also welcomed customers to their grand openings with promotions and deals. - On Saturday, Cobb County will celebrate Truck-A-Palooza. The event will be held at the Town Center Mall in Kennesaw. Truck-A-Palooza will feature fire trucks, construction vehicles, dump trucks, and many more that the whole family can enjoy. Tickets are $5 per person. All proceeds will go to supporting the Cobb County Safety Village. (Patch)
- The Cobb & Douglas Department of Public Health has announced the food scores of several local restaurants for the week. These scores rate the cleanliness and food safety measures of restaurants, so you can enjoy a safe and delicious dining experience.
