- A car wash chain that had been interested in land that includes an 1840s-era home that previously served as headquarters for a Union general during the Civil War withdrew its rezoning request. Commissioners voted 4-0 on Tuesday to formalize the withdrawal without prejudice, which means that it can be refiled again at any time. (East Cobb News)
- On summer weekdays through the end of July, three Cobb County public libraries will serve free meals to children through Georgia’s summer food service program, Happy Helpings. Meals will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis at North Cobb Regional Library on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays; South Cobb Regional Library on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and Charles D. Switzer Library on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to children under 18 or those 19 years and older who are enrolled in school programs for persons with disabilities. - Cobb County's leading aerospace and defense manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, was recently recognized by Gov. Brian Kemp as he prepared for the Paris Air Show to promote all that Georgia has to offer in the aerospace field. Gov.
