J. Christopher's Open at East Lake

The long-awaited J. Christopher's restaurant at the Pavilions at East Lake Shopping Center opened this week. 

That's the same shopping center, located at 2100 Roswell Road and Robinson Road West, with a Kroger supermarket as the anchor. J. Christopher's is occupying part of the former Smith Ace Hardware store that has been vacant for several years.


The breakfast/brunch/lunch spot has the same hours -- 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. seven days a week -- as the other two locations in East Cobb, on Johnson Ferry Road and Powers Ferry Road. 

The restaurant also has the same menu, ranging from light and traditional breakfast fare to sandwiches and salads. 

The entrance is on the side, through the old hardware store's former greenhouse area, which is now open air. 

Inside, J. Christopher's has a nice, airy ambience, with artwork on clay-colored walls and a light green raised ceiling. 

Its opening is good news for a retail center that has seen restaurants come and go in rapid fashion in recent months. While AJ's Famous Seafood and Poboys is still around, the Pavilions lost Panera Bread over the holidays and BG's Grindhouse just a couple of weeks ago.

A Star Pizza has opened in recent months, and just a few doors down from J. Christopher's a sign in a vacant space indicates that a Mexican restaurant called Perdido will be opening soon.
