  1. Work crews have closed off the two left northbound lanes on Johnson Ferry Road at Woodlawn Drive, reducing the traffic to one lane and causing traffic delays. As of Feb. 1, East Cobb News was still determining how long the closures would remain. (East Cobb News)
  2. The Cobb Board of Commissioners is holding its annual retreat at the Hilton Inn and Conference Center in nearby Marietta. The 2023 retreat began yesterday, Feb. 1, and will end Friday, Feb. 3. The retreat proceedings will not be live-streamed, but the community can read the agenda here. The commissioners will focus on updating the county’s Comprehensive 5-Year Strategic Plan.   3. Cobb County police arrested a wanted man after finding him hiding under a mattress at a family member’s apartment. Dameon Alexander was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. (WSB-TV)
