Lassiter Student Named Finalist For Atlanta Falcons High School Man Of The Year

Lassiter High School football player Luke O'Malley was recognized at Sunday's Atlanta Falcons game, and will be honored again in January.

EAST COBB, GA — A Lassiter High School student and football player is a finalist for the Atlanta Falcons' High School Man of the Year Award, according to East Cobb News.

Luke O'Malley, a junior at Lassiter and a football player, swimmer and baseball player for the Trojans, is a finalist for the Falcons' award, East Cobb News reported, which recognizes prep athletes who "make a positive difference on the field, in the classroom and in the community."

The award is modeled after the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year award given to an NFL player on each team. South Gwinnett's Jalavis Wilson won the award last year, which was the first year the Falcons presented the honor, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
