Man Killed in Accidental East Cobb Shooting

The alleged shooter has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct, Cobb County police said.

A Smyrna man is dead and a Marietta man is in jail after an accidental shooting which took place in a car in Northeast Cobb on Tuesday morning, Cobb County police said.

Jhavares Doster, 20 was killed at the intersection of Ember Street and Sherlock Drive in the Oak Creek Estates area just before 1 a.m., according to police. Investigators say he was fatally shot while inside a car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, 18-year-old Demarcus Flint of Marietta, allegedly shot Doster on accident while both were inside the car. Flint has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct, police said.

Flint is being held on a $20,000 bond at the Cobb County jail, records show.
