Man Pulled from Chattahoochee Marks 4th Drowning of Weekend

A Cobb County dive team recovered the body of a Stone Mountain man from the Chattahoochee River on Sunday bringing to four the number of people who drowned that day in the river and Lake Lanier.

A father and son from Lilburn were among the three males who drowned in the popular lake Sunday afternoon.

Cobb police say twenty-two-year-old Ibrahim Sanusi drowned in a swimming accident near the Sandy Point National Recreation Area near Akers Drive.

No foul play is suspected, according to Officer Mike Bowman. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 770-499-3945.
