Marietta Motorists Passing Stopped School Buses

Police have issued hundreds of citations in the last month.

Marietta police have been busy writing tickets to hundreds of drivers who are passing stopped school buses.

A police spokesperson tells WSB-TV that officers have written 265 tickets since Aug. 1; officers wrote over 400 tickets for passing school buses between Aug. 1 and Sept. 15 of 2014.

Drivers on Powder Springs Road are the most ticketed drivers; police tell WSB-TV they suspect that drivers don’t realize that they have to stop for school buses going in the other direction on the four-lane thoroughfare.
