Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- A student from Wheeler Magnet has given an impressive TED Talk discussing a very special molecule and why it could bridge the gap between pure scientific research and the world of healthcare. Alexis Allen talked about a molecule called liposome, and how it emphasizes the need for more research and exploration in the world of modern medicine. The high school junior intends to continue her studies in the fields of healthcare and chemistry. (Press Release Desk)
- The city of Marietta is presenting the Brown Bag Concert Series throughout the month of September in Glover Park. The program allows people to get lunch at a variety of local participating restaurants before enjoying a free concert in the park. Music fans can head over to Historic Marietta Square every Thursday this month at 12 p.m. with a blanket and a chair to enjoy the event. (City of Marietta)
- Local cross-stitch fans are encouraged to come out and spend time with fellow crafters at the Cobb County Public Library Cross Stitch Meet-Up. On the first Saturday of each month, people are invited to bring their current cross stitch project and lunch to the event, which is an informal session. While the meet-up does not offer instruction for beginners, there are cross stitch starter packs available and many members will be more than willing to help out.
